Hello everyone!!I am so excited to bring you today’s guest designer! I just had to be the one to introduce her. I have had the pleasure of working with her on and off for the past 3 or so years in the Scrapbooking Industry. I must say that whenever I need to do a project, I totally steal ideas from her!
Let me introduce you to - Kristine McKay! She is one talented Chick! She has the uncanny ability to make something beautiful out of nothing! Check her website our here and you will be convinced!
A little about Kristine, in her own words:
My passion for paper crafting began when I was a little girl growing up in Blackfoot, Idaho. I remember designing stationary sets and trying to sell them to the other neighborhood children, as well as making mini albums (before I knew what a mini-album was) out of my mom’s old gum wrappers. My love of paper and design drew me into the scrapbooking industry. I’ve worked with companies such as DCWV, All My Memories, Lasting Impressions, Three Bugs in a Rug, and We are Memory Keepers. I’ve had the opportunity to develop products for both QVC and the Home Shopping Network. I’ve also had my work featured in various publications and idea books. I believe that scrapbooking is about more than simply placing a sticker on your child’s soccer photo. It is a form of artist expression, using paper as the medium and memories as the inspiration. I strive to bring practical products and ideas to the industry that save both time and money. Currently I am a contributor on KSL studio Five and you can catch my segments several times a month. I currently reside in Spanish Fork, Utah with my husband of Dan and our three children Tanner, Kelsey, and Cameron.
Now if you ask me, Kristine is very humble about her talents. She has been at the FOREFRONT of design and product development in this industry for years and years. Now she is the “crafty contributor” to the local magazine news show. You can see all of her projects on her website. She also offers free instructions and downloads through her website. Truth be told, I do personally LOVE her, so this may sound a bit biased, but I really think she has done more to inspire craftiness in everyone than almost anyone else in the industry! You will never be short of inspiration if you follow her!
Check out the project images of the items she made using today’s steal and be sure to check out her website for more details. THANKS KRISTINE for joining us here on Scrapbooksteals.com!
Tell us what you think of Kristine’s work with today’s steal!

Hello everyone! I’m so excited to be bringing you another fabulous guest designer! I have to be honest that I am in complete awe of the talents of our guest today.
Let me introduce to you Wendy Price! Wendy has more stamping talent in one of her little toes than I possess in my entire body! It has been so much fun to see her use of today’s steal, the Fancy Pants 6×6 stamp sets.
I asked Wendy to share a little bit about herself and she first told me that she really was tempted to write, “I’m just your boring-old mom who sneaks into her room to stamp in between stirring dinner on the stove.” LOL! Well at least we know that she has priorities, and as far as boring goes…I’m not buying that. Wendy lives in (snow covered, LOL!!!) New Jersey with her husband and kids. She has been stamping and scrapping for over six years now. She’s tried a number of crafts over the years; woodburning, stained glass, embroidery, and drawing! She finds that nothing has filled her creative soul quite like papercrafting has. She loves being able to bring all those hobbies into her cards and layouts.
She currently designs for Paper Craft Planet, CreativeXpress and Lizzie Anne Design Stamps. Through the years she has had work published in publications such as PaperCraft Mag, CARDS, Simply Handmade and Scrapbook Trends.
Now lets dive into her projects! Like I said, I truly am enamored with people that possess such a talent with stamping! SO exciting to see what she’s done!
I <3 this card. Seriously, what is not to love about it. I love the wing stamps from the Fun & Free set. The little splash of ribbon ties everything in so perfectly.

What about this card? Again….simply amazing! Here Wendy has used stamps from the Brushed Designs set. I love the color combo on this card and the little flowers are absolutely precious. I bet you are asking yourself “how did she do that”, cause I know I certainly did…if you want to know the answer, check out Wendy’s blog where she will give a little more info on the how to’s!

Here are two more cards that she made featuring stamps from the Brushed Designs set as well as the Little Star set.

Now if that weren’t amazing enough look how Wendy has incorporated stamping onto layouts. True genius I tell ya…true genius!
I think this layout, ‘Pine Barrens’, has got to be one of the most stunning layouts I have ever seen which incorporates stamping as a main part of the design. I love her use of the Little Star set to create the leaves, birdy and flowers. It just goes to show that if you’ve got a good set of stamps all you need is a little paper and you can create a masterpiece! No other embellishments involved! AMAZING!

Finally, Wendy has incorporated stamps from the Fun & Free set as well as from the Little Star set to create this layout. Again, not much more to the layout than paper and stamps, yet this layout is so striking.

I just *knew* that Wendy was the perfect one to ask to play with stamps….wouldn’t you agree?
Thank you again Wendy! Oh and if you think about it, could you please pass a little stamping know how my way.

Hello crafty friends! It’s that wonderful time again when I get to introduce a new guest designer! I tell you what, these days in particular make me giddy because I get so excited at sharing incredible talent with you! Today is no exception!
Kind of a funny story about how I found our designer today…I was waiting in the doctors office with my kiddo that had none other than Impetigo, (yeah, I had never heard of it either), and we were waiting and waiting and waiting. I was killing some time by looking through customer service email on my phone and what should I find, but a link to an incredibly crafty blog, by none other than Carol Sheetz. I was so excited about her blog that I immediately emailed her and asked her if she would like to be featured as a guest designer on our ScrapbookSteals blog. I was positively thrilled when she accepted!
I asked Carol to share a little bit about herself with us. She writes:
I’m Carol Sheetz, and I’m a very enthusiastic paper crafter! I love everything about my obsession. Well, I guess some would call it a hobby! I have a wonderful and very supportive husband, two amazing daughters, and a very spoiled dog! I’m currently on a design team at Scrap-Friendzy, and I love sharing my creations on my blog! One of these days, I’m going to figure out how to make a career out of what I love to do! When you come right down to it, preserving my family’s memories is very important to me, and the fact that I enjoy doing it is just icing on the cake! I want to thank ScrapbookSteals for letting me work with some amazing product! This was really fun!!
Waiting for Carols debut with ScrapbookSteals has been such a long time coming, but the wait has been worth it indeed! I love how Carols clean yet chic style truly compliments the design of today’s My Minds Eye Ooh La La collections. The layouts that she created show how versatile each of these collections are, and I don’t know about you, but those green and yellow papers are actually making me long for dandelions! Would these papers not be the cutest for a photo of your little ones sitting in the blossoms? Not only are her layouts amazing, but these cards are simply stunning! If I could have a wee fraction of an ounce of her card making talent I wouldn’t know what to do with myself!
Thank you Carol for sharing your time and talents with us!
Be sure to check out Carol’s blog where you will find a parade of amazing scrapbooking talent!
Until next time…happy scrappin’!

First off, I have to say HOW MUCH FUN I had at our first ever ScrapbookSteals online crop! For those of you that don’t know what an online crop is, we all came together via our computers, chatted, created and shared what we made on our Facebook Fan Page! I can’t believe what a success the crop was. Well, actually I can, because if it weren’t for our wonderful customers and fans, I would have been left creating by myself and wouldn’t have been treated with such an abundance of eye candy from beginner scrapbookers and seasoned ones alike!
To start the crop off, I issued 4 different challenges. Of course participation in the challenges was 100% voluntary, but the added fact that a prize drawing was attached to each challenge seemed to help drive the creative force!
I was honestly overwhelmed with the response to the challenges and was SO glad that Mrs. Glossers Math Goodies Random Number Generator picked the winners of our drawings, because in my mind EVERY last creation is a definite winner and now a prized piece of history for so many different families!
I know at the crop we said we would only pick one winner from each category, but yeah….I just couldn’t stop at one, so two winners it is!
Our first challenge was to create a circular themed layout. Didn’t really matter how the task was accomplished, other than the layout must have circles of some sort. Our first winner for the ‘You Spin Me Round’ challenge is Jennifer R.

I love how Jennifer truly took the circle theme to heart. I love how her title rounds the edges of the circles and the layering is wonderful! Such a fun and soft colored layout which is making me wish it were spring…TODAY!
Our second winner for the circle challenge is Michelle B.

I don’t think the title of Michelle’s layout could have been any more perfect, cause honestly, any of us that have ever been head over heels in love, truly knows what it feels like to be under the spell of that special someone! I love that Michelle wasn’t afraid to crop her wedding photos, eliminating some of the distracting background, making it so that the focus of the photo was her and her hunny!
Our second challenge was to create a layout using 4 or more photos. So often I find myself stuck in the one photo layout rut, that I created this challenge to inspire myself! Our first winner for the ‘Gimme 4 or More’ challenge is Beth G.

I realize that I have an incredibly soft spot in my heart for the military as I was once an Army wife. When I saw this layout it brought tears to my eyes, to think of the sacrifice that Beth and her husband both are making for The United States. I love how Beth arranged the 4 photos and love the fact that she documented this time in her life which is surely a challenging one!
Our second winner for the 4 or more challenge is Minousha B.

Not only did Minousha exceed the 4 photo requirement, but she came up with an incredibly fun design to display the photos! I love how this layout is reminiscent of a patchwork quilt. Such fun photos and surely a page that her daughter will look back on with fond memories! I also love the color scheme that Minousha chose as it compliments the apple trees so prefectly!
Our third challenge was inspired by one of our community members Lisa M. The challenge was to create a layout using only items that were within hands reach! That’s right. No getting up and grabbing for something across the room allowed!
I love that our first winner of this challenge, Melissa D., created a layout about her Grandparents 60th Wedding Anniversary.

It always makes me smile when I see an older couple that has obviously weathered the years together, through good times and bad and still love each other. I love how Melissa captured the essence of the evening with her paper selection. I love the design and I love that she was able to document this wonderful occasion!
Our second winner of the ‘within reach’ challenge is Jana P.

Honestly what is not to love about this layout? The photo, the colors, the ribbon, the Pebble Chips? Wow. It just doesn’t get any cuter than this! (Oh and what a smart girl Jana is to always keep those chips within reach! A girl after my own heart!)
Our final challenge was to create either a layout or a Valentines card about/for that special someone in our lives. It just so happens that both of our winners for this challenge created cards for their husbands.
Nichol R. created a lovely card that her husband is sure to love.

I love that she shared a little glimpse with us of she and her husbands relationship. I love the quote that she used especially!
Our final drawing winner is Kristal S.

This Valentine card just screams cute! The row of heart stickers and the ribbon border are perfect touches to this card!
Congrats again to all of our random drawing winners! If you girls can send me a quick email to service (at) scrapbooksteals.com with your address then we will get a little surprise thank you sent out in the mail! Nothing like a little more scrappy goodness to brighten your day!
So THANK YOU AGAIN to all of you that participated in our first ever on line crop! Our next crop will be happening in March, so be sure to check back for details!
Until next time, happy scrappin’!

So I thought I should give an “official report” from CHA since I finally feel like I have recovered a little bit. We were able to see such wonderful products and meet many new Vendors. We are very excited about the upcoming year!
Now I have to make a disclaimer here. Well, two actually. First of all my photography skills need some work for sure so please understand these photos are iPhone quality with low lighting! Secondly, just because we are showing you these favorite products does not mean anything except that we LOVE them. We are not hinting in any way that they will appear soon on Scrapbooksteals! And to all the manufacturers I love so much, these are in no particular order!
First at the Imaginisce booth we got to see a very cool tool that will be coming out later this year. The i-rock tool will heat attach super cute gems on anything from paper to denim! Now you can fancy up your girl’s jeans!

Next at the Pink Paislee booth I just had to take a picture of their display. This is the first collection I have seen from Pink Pailsee with very little pink, but oh how I love it. Makes me want to get their designers to decorate my house.

We had so much fun at the Cosmo Cricket booth we just had to show you a peek of one of their most popular new collections. Maybe I can organize my gardening supplies, well maybe not.

We already showed you Madison Parker at the Fancy Pants Booth, how much fun those boys are. I fell in love with two of their collections this year. The Family collection and the Rusted Sun collections can be used for so much. My favorite part of those collections? The new cardmaking packs.

Over at the We R Memory Keepers booth we got to see the new Cinch. Now you can make your own mini albums out of just about anything. We R offers all sizes of chipboard covers and pages and also spiral binding to finish any of your projects.

I also wanted to show a pic of the fun staff at Doodlebug Designs. They ROCK, and so does all of their products!

I do have to say that probably my most favorite collection I saw at CHA was at the My Mind’s Eye booth. Their new Lush collection is basic and beautiful. Papers covered in Flock, Beautiful Brads, Chipboard Alphabets and Very Cool Bracket mini albums (also covered in flock)

All in all it was a fantastic trip and I can not wait until the next one!!!

Join Kristy, Melodee, Jana and lots of other ScrapbookSteals fans at our first online crop!
http://www.ustream.tv/channel/babysteals-live
Below are descriptions of some challenges tonight. What does that mean? You create a layout/project using the criteria of the challenge.
Challenge 1: ‘You Spin Me Round’. That’s right! Let me see a layout using circles of some sort. You can cut your photo into a circle, your paper…..you can add buttons or flair! Let’s see what you can create with a circular theme!
Challenge 2: ‘Gimme 4 or More’. To be honest, this challenge is mostly for lil’ ol’ me! I’ve been in such a one photo layout rut, and ♥ when I create a multi photo layout. The only other catch is that this layout MUST HAVE JOURNALING!… See More… See More
Challenge 3: ‘Use What You Can Grab’: Okay, have to be honest, this challenged is inspired by our own Lisa Smith Mack. See if you can create a layout using only product that you can reach from your seat. That’s right. You get the heads up for this one, so make sure you have some delicious items ‘handy’.
Challenge 4: ‘Be My Valentine’: Can you believe Valentine’s Day is only 2 short weeks away! This challenge is to create a layout about your significant other/BFF OR create that special person a Valentines card. I know it’s great to scrapbook about our kiddo’s, but it’s also important to document the love we have for that special ‘grown up’ person in our lives.
Come on in! Then check out our Facebook page here to share and view photos, layouts, and of course chat! Submit your challenges by Monday at 9am!

Hello everyone! Today I am SOOOO excited to bring to you a very dear friend as our 2nd Guest Designer of 2010. For all of you Canadians out there that don’t know Cari, you will be excited to learn that Cari is a Canadian too!

Cari lives in Langley, British Columbia with her husband, Tim, and three children (Kailyn (9), Ryan (7) and Jayden (5)). She has been scrapbooking since 1997 and her love for this craft has grown immensely over the past few years. She is a designer for Canadian Scrapbook magazine, Imaginisce and Core’dinations Cardstock. She loves teaching scrapbooking classes at her local scrapbook store and at various retreats and conventions throughout the year. When she’s not scrapbooking Cari is either taking the kids to swimming lessons, doing laundry, driving the kids to & from school, playing the piano, nibbling on chocolate and then running, wasting time on the computer or making meals for everyone! Yes, a very exciting life indeed! Cari is not only an amazing friend, wife and mother, but as you will see she is an AMAZING scrapper as well. I’ve been very fortunate to work closely with Cari in the past and there wasn’t a project that went by were I wasn’t completely amazed and inspired by what she created. I asked Cari to use today’s kit, the American Crafts Backyard Collection. I think you will agree that she did a fantastic job!

I absolutely LOVE on her ‘Cool Treats’ layout how she was not afraid to add dimension by adding the adorable pin wheels to her page. Such a great idea for something fun and unique to hang on your wall!

I also love in her ‘Fun in the Sun’ layout, how she put the kit to the test by pretty much mixing up all of the different elements that come with the kit!

If you want to be further inspired by Cari’s incredible talents, then be sure to check out her blog. http://myandmythoughts.blogspot.com/
Oh! I also wanted to give you the heads up about our first ScrapbookSteals online crop TONIGHT! What does that mean? It means we all get ‘together’ and scrapbook. Okay, not physically together, but we connect via our computers. We share what we create via our Facebook page so everyone can take turns oooohing and ahhhhhhhing. We will be chatting and scrapping it up! And who knows….there may even be some giveaways involved! WHO doesn’t want free stuff? Be there at 6PM MST, or be square, or circle, or scalloped, or……………….
Come here or on Facebook for the link to join us!
Until next time guest designer day, where we will be treated by not only an amazing scrapper but a Scrapbook Steals customer as well! (You just never know what will happen when you attach a link to your crafty blog in an email to us!)
Happy Scrappin’!

We just returned from a wonderful trip to Anaheim for the Craft and Hobby Association expo! We had so much fun scoping out the latest and greatest in the Scrapbooking world and everything was just so lovely. We can’t wait to share what we found for you over the coming year! For now, we’ll show you some of the fun photos we couldn’t resist but share. (These photos have nothing to do with upcoming features; just a few things that inspired us! Sorry for the dark iphone quality photos)
I have an obsession with cupcakes…can you tell which ones are real and which are fake?

We HEART Cosmo Cricket!

Is this inspiring or is it just me?

Provo Craft has a new amazing Cricut called the Cricut Cake. Yes, it cuts out fondant to decorate your cake. Seriously.

We’ve said it before and we’ll say it again- the boys at Fancy Pants are so much fun. Madison, this one is for you! (inside joke)
